Sports, Competitions, and the Arts

Well-Rounded Learners

Woodstock Christian provides a well-rounded education by providing many opportunities for learning outside the classroom. Field trips to the Woodstock Opera House, the Raue Center for the Arts and the Rockford Symphony broaden their understanding and appreciation for the performing arts. Outings to the McHenry County Conservation District expand their understanding of their world and appreciation for God’s creation. Visits to hands-on museums and the Challenger Learning Center impart an understanding of scientific concepts. Fifth through eighth grade  students may join the basketball team to compete against other private schools.

Junior High students also participate in:

  • The national Association of Christian Schools International Leadership Conference each year
  • Additional competitions including speech meets, science fairs, spelling bees, creative writing, essay, and poetry contests.
  • Service projects such as recycling, and visits with the elderly
  • Monthly projects with their kindergarten buddies.

Junior High students and Woodstock Christian School alumni have the opportunity to be part of a bi-annual summer mission trip to Mexico.
